The Society welcomes members who are current or former students of Shrewsbury School.
Members can also be current or former Teachers, Parents or anybody else who has or can demonstrate they have had a strong connection with The Schools at Shrewsbury.
The current subscription to join is a £25 Standing Order paid on 1st January each year.
Members, based on the costs of the specific event, pay for meetings, Matches and Fixtures. Some subsidies from the OSGS are available at each event.
The OSGS significantly contributes to the costs of the teams entered into the Halford Hewitt, Mellin Salver and Grafton Morrish Events held annually.
The OSGS sponsors Golf at Shrewsbury by paying for a Corporate Membership for The Schools at Hawkstone Park Golf Club in Shropshire. It strongly encourages golf at Shrewsbury and holds an annual match between The Schools’ and the OSGS.
The OSGS is always keen to attract new members and specifically has a NEW DEAL available to Leavers or Recent Leavers as follows:
- Join the OSGS at the Reduced Rate of £10 per annum for five years.
- Whilst studying, I am entitled to play golf in two meetings per year, free.
- When I get a job, I can play in meetings at half price up to the age of 30.
- After Five years at £10 per Annum I will convert to paying the full annual subscription (currently £25).
